Review

I recently read this book after coming across it at the Jacksonville Library and I have to say  it was truly appreciated. I started reading “The Referral of a Lifetime” and I couldn’t take my eyes out of the book. It’s been a while sense I’ve been that engaged in a book!

Anyway, the book talked about developing relationships as a means of creating referral partners and reducing your need for big marketing bugets. The ideas of this system resonated deeply with me. Some of these things I’ve been doing at a small scale, but I realize there is more to do to make this system work.

The principles:

1. “The 250 by 250 Rule. It’s not only who you know that counts, it’s who your clients know that is important.”

2.” Build a database and ABC it”

3. “Just let me know. Educate clients about how you work and your value to them through regular, tangible actions performed without fail.”

4. “Keep in touch, consistently, personally, and systematically”

The author uses writing that would make an 8th grader understand these concepts. Anyone can be successful at this system because it is definitely not difficult. Sure, it will take some getting use to, but the question becomes, “Is my business not worth it?”  So, with that said, I’d recommend this book for business owners, college students transitioning into their careers, and people who are considering starting their own businesses.
