Travis Titus has a tantalizing tempo and his golf game is definitely up to par. He started playing golf when he was just 12 years old, and picked up an interest in the sport on a family vacation in South Carolina (1996). “I was hooked ever since. Soon after came the Tiger Woods explosion; which also added to my motivation to play.” Travis’ humble beginnings started out in local amateur tournaments, and as of 2008 he has worked his way up to playing professionally. Travis is currently a member of the Florida Professional Golf Tour and has multiple sponsors. He has played the sport in major cities in the states of Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Tennessee, Illinois, New Jersey, California, Washington and many more. He has also played in Mexico. In addition to him golfing across the U.S., he has achieved Freshmen of the Year on Hampton University Men’s Golf Team, 2002; Most Valuable Player on Hampton University Men’s Golf Team in 2002- 2005; nominated for the  Tiger Woods Foundation National Team 2001, and was the 2009 JAGG Tournament Champion.

He has resided in Hampton, VA, Seattle, WA, and Orlando, FL, but is a Jacksonville native. What led up to the opportunity for Travis to play professional golf was “being blessed to have sponsors that are behind me, and that have given me the opportunity to play and compete by covering expenses.” His sponsors include Ale House, Nike equipment sponsorships, as well as personal sponsors.  Travis rarely misses a day to play; and plays the sport up to 10 hours some days to keep his game on point.

What is most fascinating about Travis is that he is self- skilled. “I pretty much taught myself how to play the game through watching, reading, and imagination with practice.” His upcoming goals are to win his first professional tournament, receive a PGA Tour Card, and qualify for the 2011 US Open. Travis would like for readers to know, “I am living proof that children that don’t have the country club background are not the only ones who can be competitive professionals.”
