“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God” (Matthew 5:8). Having a pure heart means living by the rules of God that bring moral purity. The initial use of the word “pure” in the Bible was in the sense of “clean” as opposed to “unclean.” That’s why it comes to no surprise that Bishop Wiley Tomlinson chose to name his voice of communication Pure Radio.
Bishop Wiley and his wife, Dr. Jeana Tomlinson, Pastors of New Covenant Ministries, have served Jesus Christ in Jacksonville for over 40 years. They served with Lester Sumrall for 20 years and traveled around the world with him. Their spiritual father in Zimbabwe is Apostle Ezekiel Gutti who pastors over 4 million people. The two have also traveled to Africa and to many other nations preaching the Gospel. They have befriended many great inspirations in the Christian arena such as R.W. Shambach, T.L. and LaDonna Osborn, David and Joyce Meyer, T.D. Jakes, Bishop Charles Blake, Fred Price, Kenneth Hagin, and Kenneth Copeland. “We are honored to be able to call all of them our friends.” New Covenant Ministries is an inter racial ministry that welcomes everyone regardless of race, color or creed. “We thoroughly enjoy the wonderful color of God’s people all over the world. There’s equal and level ground at the cross. Our target group is the inter racial people in the body of Christ. People who don’t segregate themselves into one group or another but realize we are One in Christ. There is no difference between us. God sees One New Man, and we are that new creation.”
The draw was the pure knowledge that radio has no boundaries; it goes through walls, it goes behind prison doors, inside hospitals, homes, the marketplace, and even in the cars of everyday people. Radio is one of the most listened to means of communication today. Pure Radio takes advantage of the power of radio to penetrate darkness in the cities where stations are allowed to be used by the Spirit of God.
Bishop Wiley formerly owned FM 88.1 and AM 1600 and built these stations from the ground up, and now the new Pure Radio will be an icon for Christians to turn to, not just to hear music and to be comforted, but to be challenged to live for God with all their heart. Pure Radio, 1320AM and 103.7 FM, will soon be comparable to 106.5 FM, reaching airwaves as far as Brunswick, GA. They are constantly growing and striving to make Pure Radio your radio station as they reach out to the body of Christ, building up believers throughout the city, portions of southeast Georgia, extending down to southern St. Augustine and west of the I-10/I-75 corridor.
“We believe this station will sharpen the people of God. The cry that the world has is for us as believers to wise up and draw close to the Lord so that His life and love can flow through us. Only leaders, teachers, pastors, apostolic men and women in the body of Christ can send that word to believers. They can break the spiritual bonds of darkness and ignorance where they have been abused by the lack of knowledge of God’s Word.” Pure Radio focus is to set free the error of the misunderstandings that listeners may have of the Word of God, coming to understand the love of God that holds back nothing of His great blessings for us.
Pure Radio is considered a Pastor’s Best Friend because it empowers the sheep. This concept is causing the listeners to be better disciples of Christ and to be responsible for the call over their lives. The excitement comes by knowing that the Word of God is able to be transmitted through the airways and able to build people up; changing their lives, bringing them out of doubt and unbelief into faith, strength and victory where they can walk the walk of an overcomer.
“We believe that God’s anointing and creative ability is upon every person who He has chosen for our radio station. We are blessed to have men and women of strong character and solid doctrine that comprehend the importance of building the Body of Christ on a firm Foundation. Jesus is Lord over Jacksonville, Florida,” emphasizes Bishop Wiley.
Pure Radio is continuously adding new programming so we can provide the most effective ministry opportunities. Dr Jeana Tomlinson declares, “We are excited about what God is doing at Pure Radio. As the vision continues to unfold before us, we are met with great challenges and obstacles, but equally great encouragement and faith!”
